General LMFT Licensure Disclosure

The following constitutes a summary list of the states where the Toccoa Falls MAMFT program meets the State educational requirements for LMFT licensure. Students from any state besides Georgia should check the licensing requirements in their state, as these can change often.

At present, Toccoa Fall's MAMFT program is not accredited with COAMFTE. However, the program is designed to meet COAMFTE's accreditation standards.  The program will be eligible to apply for accreditation with COAMFTE after the first graduating class.  If a student (who graduates in the first year) is applying for licensure with a state that requires COAMFTE accreditation, that student will need to submit course syllabi to their licensing state for approval.

This information confirms whether or not a graduate will be eligible to sit for the licensing exam in the various states.  Students will have to sit for (and pass) a licensing exam,  obtain post graduate supervised hours, possibly a take a Juris Prudence exam, possibly an interview, and other specificities any particular state requires  in order to become fully licensed in that preferred state.
